Report: Sheryl Crow To Join Fleetwood Mac
Sheryl Crow is planning to join Fleetwood Mac sometime next year, Crow told the AOL music news website Spinner.com. It is unclear however if the alliance will be for live performances, recording or both. "We definitely have plans for collaborating in the future and we'll see what happens," Crow reportedly said.
The singer, who is beginning a tour in support of her recently released "Detours" album, said she's thrilled at the thought of singing harmonies on such songs as "The Chain" and "Second Hand News."
For Crow, working with the legendary band--and essentially replacing Christine McVie who retired from touring 10 years ago-- will provide her an opportunity to work with Stevie Nicks, who has long been a major influence in her life. The collaboration between Crow and Fleetwood Mac also means the band may tour again with three primary vocalists; the future of the band had been in limbo because Nicks reportedly was unwilling to continue touring without McVie. Crow broke the Fleetwood Mac news during a recent AOL Sessions performance, scheduled to premiere Apr. 11.
