Original Blue Notes Singer Dies

Lawrence Lloyd Brown Sr., an original member of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes , died April 6 of a respiratory condition, according to published reports.

Brown, 63, was still performing with the Blue Notes until January, when he became ill while singing at a show, according to The Associated Press. Brown, who began singing and dancing as a child, lived in North Philadelphia.
