Sponge, Marcy Playground To Rock The High Seas

1990s hit-makers Sponge and Marcy Playground will be the featured entertainers on Carnival Cruise's "Fascination," a four-night cruise to the Bahamas Oct. 23-27.

The cruise departs from Jacksonville, FL, and includes stops in Freeport and Nassau. Each band will play full electric and acoustic shows and will hang out with fans on board cocktail parties, poker tournaments and autograph sessions.

Hailing from Detroit, Sponge gained international notoriety with its debut album "Rotting Pinata," which spawned the hits "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)." Sponge's follow-up CD, "Wax Ecstatic," includes the hit songs "Wax Ecstatic" and "Have You Seen Mary?" Sponge is touring in support of its new CD, "Galore Galore."

Marcy Playground became alternative radio darlings with its smash hit "Sex and Candy." The band's current single "Punk Rock Superstar," from its latest CD "MP3," is featured on Microsoft's X Box.
