Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon Wed
Mariah Carey reportedly has married Nick Cannon , although representatives for the singer have not confirmed the news. The couple apparently obtained a marriage license on the island of Eleuthera in the Caribbean and wed at Carey's private estate in the Bahamas.
Cannon's jeweler, Jacob Arabo, told People that the actor had a 17 carat, $2.5 million ring designed for Carey. Jacob said the ring he made was crafted from platinum and features a 10 carat square, emerald-cut fancy light pink diamond in the center, surrounded by 58 intense pink diamonds, flanked by two half-moon diamonds. Though some speculated Carey's ring was the same one Cannon gave to his former financee, Victoria's Secret model Seltia Ebanks, Arabo said Ebanks' ring was comprised of 12 carats of colorless diamonds.
Sources told People Cannon, 27, and Carey, 39, became involved after he appeared in the video for her song "Bye, Bye." The couple reportedly had been dating for less than two months. This is the second marriage for Carey, who divorced music powerhouse Tommy Mottola in 1998.
