Taking Back Sunday Welcomes New Member
Taking Back Sunday has tapped Matt Fazzi to join the band as a full-time guitarist and second vocalist, according to a press release. Fazzi, who is from San Jose, CA, is a former member of the indie bands Tragedy Andy and Facing New York.
Fazzi first met Taking Back Sunday bassist Matt Rubano and founding guitarist Eddie Reyes when Facing New York appeared with Taking Back Sunday on the Vans Warped Tour in 2004. Facing New York later supported Taking Back Sunday on a US tour in April 2006.
Fazzi performed his first show with Taking Back Sunday May 5 at the Crazy Donkey club on Long Island, NY. The band, which is scheduled to play with My Chemical Romance tomorrow night (5/9) at New York City's Madison Square Garden, also made a surprise appearance May 6 at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia. They reportedly were listed as "special guests" of headliners My Chemical Romance.
