Charts: Nelly’s "Country Grammar" No. 1 For Fourth Straight Week

“Country Grammar,” the debut album from Nelly , hangs on to the top spot on the album chart for the fourth week in a row, according to Universal Records. DJ Clue’s “Backstage Mix Tape,” meanwhile, debuts in the Top 10 this week, surrounded by a group of records that remain mostly unchanged.

Nelly’s “Country Grammar” sold just over 200,000 copies last week, and has sold 2,187,406 copies in the ten weeks since its release, according to Universal. Sales of the first disc from the St. Louis rapper have been spurred by the success of the single "(Hot S**t) Country Grammar," which is currently No. 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart.

Britney Spears’ “Oops! … I Did It Again” and Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP” both hold fast in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively. “Oops!” has been in the No. 2 position for 8 consecutive weeks now, while “Marshall Mathers” has sat at No. 3 for four straight weeks.

The first sign of movement on this week’s chart is a swap between Creed’s “Human Clay” and the “NOW That’s What I Call Music Vol. 4” compilation. The switch puts “Human Clay” in the No. 4 spot on the chart, pushing “NOW Vol. 4” down to No. 5.

DJ Clue’s “Backstage Mix Tape”--the only new addition to this week’s Top 10--debuts at No. 6. The album features cuts by various artists including Jay Z, Eve, Da Brat and Foxy Brown. Clue, a New York DJ, gained his notoriety by creating dance mix tapes that were widely circulated. The success of those tapes ultimately led to his first major label release, 1998’s “The Professional.”

Unmoved at No. 7 this week is 3 Doors Down’s “Better Life,” which is followed by ‘N Sync’s “No Strings Attached,” down to No. 8 from its No. 6 slot. Papa Roach’s “Infest” also takes a small dip this week, down one spot to No. 9. The “Coyote Ugly” soundtrack, meanwhile, keeps its position at No. 10 for the second week in a row.
