Red Hot Chili Peppers serve up tour details
With their ninth studio album, "Stadium Arcadium," soon to arrive in stores, The Red Hot Chili Peppers have rolled out the itinerary for their upcoming North American tour.
The band's roadwork is broken up into three separate legs: the first kicks off in mid-August and focuses on the West, the second begins in mid-September and is comprised entirely of Canadian stops, and the third launches in mid-October and covers the Midwest and East.
Tickets for all dates go on sale to the general public on May 13 except for the tour's Boise, ID, stop, tickets for which go on sale May 12, according to the group's publicist.
Premium-level members of the Peppers' official fan club will have the first shot at tickets during a May 7-8 presale. Fans who aren't yet members can join anytime between now and May 7 in order to have access to the presale, according to the group's management. More information is posted at the band's website.
Additionally, fans who pre-order "Stadium Arcadium" via Apple's iTunes Music Store will receive an email with a code that they can use at Ticketmaster.com starting May 9--the same day that "Stadium Arcadium" is released--to purchase concert tickets before the general on-sale. (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily's parent company.) The codes won't be emailed until shortly before the ticket presale begins, according to organizers.
The iTunes digital version of the 28-song double album will include a band commentary; a documentary about the making of the video for the album's first single, "Dani California"; and digital artwork.
Pre-order customers will also be entered for a chance to win a limited-edition Red Hot Chili Peppers customized iPod and a set of iTunes Music Cards loaded with the band's entire catalog, and will have instant access to the "Dani California" digital single.
"Stadium Arcadium," the Chili Peppers' follow-up to 2002's "By the Way," was produced by longtime RHCP mentor Rick Rubin.
As previously reported, the Chili Peppers' concert plans include an early August performance at this summer's Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, and an Oct. 28 headlining set at this year's annual Voodoo Music Festival.
