Dashboard Confessional announces new album, Canadian tour
Having put the final touches on its first studio album in three years, Dashboard Confessional will head out for a short Canadian tour in late June, with a larger North American tour expected to follow.
The Florida emo quartet, which is currently finishing up a tour of US college towns, will kick off its Canadian swing June 30 in Toronto, the first of seven dates. Tickets for all the Canadian shows are currently onsale.
"Dusk and Summer," due in stores June 27, was written and recorded over a two-year period with producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Linkin Park) behind the controls. The band also enlisted famed U2 collaborator Daniel Lanois for production help on the album.
The band worked with Gilmore previously on the song "Vindicated," which appeared on the "Spider-Man 2" soundtrack. The new album's first single, "Don't Wait," will arrive at radio stations later this month.
Led by singer/songwriter Christopher Carrabba, the quartet has not released a new studio album since 2003's "A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar." The band initially broke through to a wide audience with the release of "The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most" in 2001.
