Country singer Clint Black [ tickets ] has mapped out a summer tour schedule as he continues to support last year's "Drinkin' Songs & Other Logic."

The Texas cowboy traditionalist will kick off his late-spring, early-summer slate May 20 in Laughlin, NV. The bulk of Black's tour will run through late June, including two stadium shows co-headling with Dwight Yoakam, June 21 in Norwich, CT, and the following night in Lancaster, PA. The pair will also appear together June 24 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.

Black also plans some shows in July and August, with more dates expected to be added on the horizon.

"Drinkin' Songs & Other Logic," which hit stores last October, is Black's 11th studio album of a recording career that began with 1989's "Killin' Time."

The album followed 2004's "Spend My Time," which itself followed Black's five-year hiatus from the country music industry. Black explained in a press release how he approached the recording of his latest album by listening to music that had initially inspired him as a performer.

"I went out and bought all the music I grew up on that I didn't already have and spent three months listening to only that," Black said. "Only stuff from before I started making records, so it was pre-1989 Waylon, Willie, Buck Owens, Haggard, Don Williams, Jim Croce. And what I discovered was a simplicity in song that I had moved away from. It was quite an emotional journey, because these were all songs that moved me and inspired me to do what I've been doing ever since."
