The start of the Slayer -headlined "Unholy Alliance Tour: Preaching to the Perverted," has been pushed back another five days, and is now set to open June 15 in Camden, NJ.
Slayer bassist/vocalist Tom Araya underwent gall bladder surgery earlier this month, resulting in the delayed tour launch. Planned shows in Peoria, IL; St. Louis, MO; and Chicago are the latest shows added to the list of postponed gigs.
"We wanted to give Tom an extra few days to make sure that he's at 100% before he puts one foot on the road," Slayer manager Rick Sales said in a press release. "We apologize for any confusion that this has caused, but Tom and the band want the fans to get the best Slayer shows possible."
It took them more than two decades to reach the top, but The Red Hot Chili Peppers have finally scored a No. 1 album.
The group's new two-CD set, "Stadium Arcadium," moved 442,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to top The Billboard 200 album chart.
Nick Lachey 's "What's Left of Me" enters the chart at No. 2, while Tool's "10,000 Days" slides from No. 1 a week ago to No. 3.
Jagged Edge 's new, self-titled album bows at No. 4 on the chart, while The Isley Brothers featuring Ronald Isley's "Baby Makin' Music" rounds out the Top 5.
The UK band Keane has recorded 12 new tracks for its follow-up to 2004's "Hopes and Fears." The new set, titled "Under the Iron Sea" and led by the single "Is it Any Wonder?" is set to hit stores June 20.
