Yellowcard shuffles more dates into the deck

If his band's still-growing summer-tour itinerary is any indication, Yellowcard frontman Ryan Key expects to bounce back quickly and fully from throat his surgery.

The group, which recently postponed several tour dates after announcing that Key needed to have a cyst removed from his vocal cords, have plugged a number of gaps in a busy tour schedule that launches on the West Coast in mid-June and will traverse North America through at least early September. The bulk of the outing comprises headlining stops that will feature support from Matchbook Romance, Rock Kills Kid and Hedley, and also includes appearances at several radio-station festivals. Details are included in the itinerary shown below.

In addition to the upcoming tour dates, Yellowcard is booked to appear as the musical guest on the June 22 episode of CBS-TV's "The Late Show with David Letterman," during which the group will perform "Rough Landing Holly." The cut is the second single from the band's latest album, "Lights and Sounds."

Released in January, "Lights and Sounds" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. Strong first-week sales were fueled, in part, by the album's title track, which served as the set's first single.

The album has since been gold certified by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying US shipment of 500,000 copies.
