Modest Mouse returns from layoff
Modest Mouse will play a modest string of dates in August, ending a nine-month touring hiatus for the band since finishing up support for its 2004 album, "Good News for People Who Love Bad News."
The Seattle alt-rockers will play four shows in August, kicking off Aug. 6 in Santa Barbara, CA. The dates are all in the West, with the brief outing coming to a conclusion Aug. 10 in Portland, OR.
A limited number of pre-sale tickets are available for the Aug. 6 Santa Barbara show and the Aug. 9 concert in Bend, OR, through the band's label website. Tickets for the other pair of shows are currently on sale.
Modest Mouse toured extensively following its commercial breakthrough in the wake of "Good News," spending much of 2004 and 2005 on the road.
Released in April of 2004, "Good News" has sold more than 1.3 million copies, according to Epic Records. The set followed 2000's critically hailed "The Moon & Antarctica."
