The Rolling Stones have postponed the first 15 dates of their European tour so that guitarist Keith Richards can continue to recover from his recent head injury.
The tour was initially scheduled to get underway May 27 in Barcelona, but the launch will instead take place sometime in July, according to a press release. An updated itinerary is pending.
Richards was injured in an April 27 fall while vacationing in Fiji, and underwent surgery earlier this month in New Zealand to relieve pressure on his brain.
"Stadium Arcadium," The Red Hot Chili Peppers 's new, two-disc set, holds on to spend its second straight week at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, with sales of about 147,000 copies over the past week.
Cam'ron 's "Killa Season" makes its debut at No. 2, while Tool's "10,000 Days" holds steady at No. 3, according to Billboard.
The "High School Confidential" soundtrack pops up three notches to No. 4, while Ashley Parker Angel, formerly of O-Town, rounds out the Top 5 with "Soundtrack to Your Life."
Jam band Widespread Panic will throw a free, release-day party at New York City's Irving Plaza to celebrate the June 13 street-date of the group's new studio album, "Earth to America."
Tickets will be handed out by New York City radio stations beginning June 5, as well as through an online lottery for fans who have pre-ordered the album via the band's website. Tickets will also be given away through contests on jambase.com, relix.com and musictoday.com.
Chevelle , which had been scheduled to appear on several upcoming Nickelback dates, won't appear on the tour's June 30-July 26 stops due to an injury, according to the band's website.
"[Bassist Dean Bernardini] cut up his fingers on his left hand," drummer Sam Loeffler wrote on the site. "As a punishment, we made him get stitches without any pain killers at all. We also had the doctor berate him as he stitched him together."
