Gretchen Wilson keeps 'Revolution' on road
Fresh off a series of shows with fellow country star Trace Adkins , Gretchen Wilson has added large batch of new dates to the third leg of her "Redneck Revolution" tour.
The new dates essentially fill out Wilson's previously announced schedule, with the main additions coming in the first half of June and the beginning of July, and further shows added in September and October
Wilson still has two engagements remaining with Adkins, Friday (5/26) in Charlotte, NC and Saturday (5/27) in Birmingham, AL. The pair have teamed together for almost the entire month of May, constituting Wilson's second "Redneck" leg.
After a quick break for Memorial Day, Wilson will jump right back into the swing of things June 1 in Albuquerque, NM. Her schedule doesn't really relent until the latter half of July, but then quickly picks up again in August.
The roadwork supports Wilson's sophomore effort, "All Jacked Up," which hit stores last September. The set debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, as well as on Billboard's Country Album chart, thanks to first-week sales of about 264,000 copies.
Wilson produced "All Jacked Up" with John Rich--of country duo Big & Rich, with whom Wilson recently toured--and Sony Nashville exec Mark Wright. The disc features 12 songs, seven of which Wilson either wrote or co-wrote.
Wilson's 2004 debut, "Here for the Party," has sold more than 4 million copies, according to her website.
Earlier this year, Wilson was crowned Female Vocalist of the Year during the 39th annual CMA Awards. That honor followed her 2004 win for the CMA Horizon Award, and makes her the first solo female artist to score both trophies during consecutive years, according to the Country Music Association.
