Briefly: Dixie Chicks, Indigo Girls, Phish, Pearl Jam

The Dixie Chicks , riding the huge publicity wave that accompanied the release of their first new album since 2002, debut atop the latest Billboard 200 album chart.

According to the group's publicist, "Taking the Long Way" sold about 526,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to give the group its third No. 1 debut.

The "High School Musical" soundtrack climbs two rungs this week to claim the No. 2 slot, while "American Idol Season 5: Encores" enters the chart at No. 3.

Angels and Airwaves, led by Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge, enters the chart at No. 4, while The Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Stadium Arcadium" sinks to No. 5 after a two-week residency at No. 1.

Indigo Girls have signed with Hollywood Records, a move that ends the folk-rock duo's career-long association with Epic Records.

A new, as-yet-untitled Indigo Girls album is due from their new label on Sept. 19. Mitchell Froom is producing the set, which features a guest appearance from Pink on one track.

Phish will issue the two-DVD set "Live in Brooklyn," as well as a separate three-CD audio soundtrack, on July 11.

The concert film and album were recorded during the group's June 17, 2004 appearance at New York city's Keyspan Park.

Pearl Jam announced that the Innocence Project will receive a one-dollar donation for each ticket purchased to their concert this past Saturday (5/27) in Camden, NJ.

The organization will use the donation to help identify and free wrongfully imprisoned people by using DNA testing.
