Snow Patrol [ tickets ] has postponed all of its planned US summer tour dates due to frontman Gary Lightbody's ongoing throat problems.

According to a press release, a doctor has instructed Lightbody not to sing again until mid-July.

The band is currently rescheduling all of its dates for September. A firm itinerary is expected by next week.

Jay-Z [ tickets ], who said three years ago that he was retiring as a rapper, will return to perform a June 25 concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

The concert is in celebration of the 10th anniversary of his debut album, "Reasonable Doubt," which he is to perform in its entirety.

Bob Mould [ tickets ] (Husker Du, Sugar) and house musician Richard Morel [ tickets ] have joined forces on their debut album as Blowoff.

The self-titled set is due in stores Sept. 5, and its lead-off track, titled "Hormone Love," is available at Blowoff's website.

The duo--which once a month serve as DJs at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, spinning dance and rock songs and also performing a set as Blowoff--hopes to take Blowoff on the road this fall.

Rap legend Rakim [ tickets ], who hasn't issued a new solo album in almost 10 years, plans to issue a new set, titled "The Seventh Seal," this summer.
