Justin Timberlake solo set due in September

Justin Timberlake has set a Sept. 12 release date for "FutureSex/LoveSounds," his sophomore solo album, according to Jive Records.

The album, co-written by Timberlake, will be preceded by the single "SexyBack," which ships to radio July 7, the label announced. The track was written and co-produced by Timberlake with Timbaland and Nate Hills.

Other producers who had a hand in the new set include JAWBreakers (Timberlake with Will.I.Am of Black Eyed Peas) and Rick Rubin.

"FutureSex/LoveSounds" is the follow-up to 2002's "Justified," which has sold more than 7 million copies worldwide, according to Jive.

Timberlake plans to preview the new album with a US club tour that launches in August. The full itinerary will be announced "shortly," according to a press release. A promotional tour of Europe and Japan is set for July.

'NSync, the boy-band Timberlake rode to fame beginning in the late '90s, has been almost entirely inactive in recent years, save for its annual Challenge for the Children charity event--and even that benefit has been scrapped for this year.
