Heart still beating on the tour circuit

Heart --a.k.a. Ann and Nancy Wilson--kicks off a new round of US tour dates tomorrow night (7/15) as it continues to back its most recent album, "Jupiter's Darling."

The Seattle-based Wilson sisters and their band currently have 15 shows lined up between now and Sept. 9. The details are included below.

The shows will feature new bassist Ric Markmann, who replaces previous bassist Mike Inez (Alice in Chains). Markmann's resume includes work with Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave) and Eleven.

Inez left to mount a reunion tour with the other surviving members of Alice in Chains.

Released in 2004, "Jupiter's Darling" is Heart's first new studio collection since 1993's "Desire Walks On." The set follows 2003's "Alive in Seattle," which captures the final stop on Heart's 2002 tour.

In 2002, Sony's Legacy Recordings issued "The Essential Heart," a two-disc set featuring digitally remastered versions of Heart's slew of '70s- and '80s-era hits, such as "Crazy On You," "Barracuda," "Magic Man," "What About Love," "Never" and "These Dreams."

Earlier this year, VH1 paid tribute to Heart with the third edition of the music-video channel's "Decades Rock Live" concert series. The event featured appearances from the surviving members of Alice in Chains (Inez, guitarist Jerry Cantrell and drummer Sean Kinney), Dave Navarro, Carrie Underwood, Rufus Wainwright and Gretchen Wilson.
