James Blunt takes 'Bedlam' to North America
UK crooner James Blunt , who continues to support his 2005 debut, "Back to Bedlam," returns to North America this fall to tackle a 35-city tour.
The outing--which will touch down at a mix of arenas, theaters and large clubs--gets underway Oct. 1 in Montreal, and is set to wrap up Nov. 18 in Las Vegas. A limited number of pre-sale tickets will be sold beginning July 26 via Blunt's website, according to a press release.
As he did on his previous North American tour, Blunt--a British Army veteran--will raise money for the medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders. In each city, a one-on-one meet-and-greet with Blunt is being auctioned. More information is available at the Doctors Without Borders website.
On Aug. 8, the Blunt concert DVD "Chasing Time: The Bedlam Sessions" will be issued in the US. The DVD was filmed at BBC Studios in London, where Blunt and his band were backed by three vocalists and a string section.
The DVD features live renditions of every song from "Back To Bedlam," as well as a cover of the Pixies' "Where is My Mind." Rounding out the DVD is more than an hour of extra features, including four music videos and "making-of" video footage, a documentary, an interview with Blunt and a photo gallery.
Spurred by the No. 1 single "You're Beautiful," "Back to Bedlam" has been certified double platinum for shipping more than 2 million copies in the US. According to Atlantic Records, the album has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
