Staind's tour plans spread
Fresh off a run through Australia and New Zealand, rockers Staind return to their home turf for a US tour that launches Saturday (8/5), dates for which now stretch into the fall.
The band has added to its itinerary a handful of new August stops, as well as a full battery of September shows and a batch of early October performances. Also, the tour's previously announced second stop, set in Madison, WI, has been bumped back a day, and will now take place on Aug. 7.
As previously reported, Three Days Grace and Soil will open a number of the upcoming shows. Fellow rock outfit Seether was also scheduled to appear on most of the upcoming dates, but the group called off its tour plans late last month when lead singer Shaun Morgan announced that he was entering rehab to deal with "what he sees as a dependence on a combination of substances," according to a press release.
Black Stone Cherry has been added to the roster for many of the recently announced dates, and additional acts--including Breaking Benjamin, Evans Blue, Dropping Daylight, Nonpoint and others--will also rotate through the opening slot. Details are included in the itinerary below.
Members of Staind's official fan club have a shot at meet-and-greet passes for all of the upcoming shows, according to information posted at the band's website.
Staind's fifth album, "Chapter V," debuted last summer at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and is the Massachusetts-based band's third consecutive chart-topper. The disc features the hit singles "Right Here," "Everything Changes" and "Falling," the music video for which is streaming at the group's MySpace website.
