Trace Adkins heads up CMT Tour

Country singer Trace Adkins [ tickets ] is locked in to headline the fifth annual CMT Tour, which will also feature Billy Currington [ tickets ] and Jason Aldean [ tickets ].

The outing gets underway Oct. 5 in Jacksonville, FL, and is scheduled to touch down in about three-dozen cities by early December. On-sale dates for tickets to most shows have been announced, and are shown in the itinerary below.

Adkins is gearing up for the Aug. 15 release of "Dangerous Man," his follow-up to last year's "Songs About Me," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Country Albums chart after racking up first-week sales of about 63,000 copies. The new set features lead-off single "Swing," the music video for which holds the No. 1 spot on cable channel GAC's weekly "Top 20 Country Countdown" program, and has also made its way onto CMT's "Top 20 Countdown." Currington is supporting his 2005 sophomore set, "Doin' Somethin' Right," while Aldean is backing his self-titled, 2005 debut.
