Guster's tour plans get blown around

Guster , which has been touring behind its recently released album, "Ganging Up on the Sun," has rolled out some new shows, canceled some others, and announced that Ray LaMontagne won't be staying on board during the group's September outing.

Originally due to return to the stage Friday (8/4) night in Cleveland, Guster has pulled the plug on that show, as well as its scheduled shows in Columbus, OH (8/5) and Pittsburgh (8/6). Tickets refund are available at the point of purchase. The group gave no explanation for the cancellations.

LaMontagne, meanwhile, did offer an explanation for ducking out of Guster's September tour.

"Ray LaMontagne regretfully has to cancel his participation in the second leg of his co-headlining tour with Guster due to unforeseen conflicts in his schedule," reads a statement from the singer's camp. "... He enjoyed the first leg with Guster and is disappointed he can't continue at this time but is looking forward to returning to the road soon."

"It's too bad, since the shows so far have really been great and we've been flattered to be on the same stage with someone as talented as Ray," Guster said in a message posted at its website.

The group has tapped Nada Surf and Tristan Prettyman to take over for the tour's next leg, which begins in mid-September. Details are included in the itinerary below.

"Ganging Up on the Sun" follows Guster's 2003 set, "Keep It Together." Originally due out last year, the new disc was first pushed back until early 2006, then June 13 and finally hit stores June 20.

Three tracks from "Ganging Up on the Sun"--"Satellite," "One Man Wrecking Machine" and "Ruby Falls"--are streaming at Guster's MySpace site.
