Zakk Wylde takes Black Label Society out for a spin
After finishing up his current stint on the soon-to-wrap Ozzfest tour, Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde will lead his other band, Black Label Society, on a fall tour of the US club and theater circuit.
Wylde and company launch the run in mid-October, and three-dozen shows are lined up through early December. Before then, Wylde--who is pulling double duty backing Ozzy and fronting Black Label Society on the Ozzfest roster--has two more Ozzfest dates left to tackle. Details are shown below.
Also on tap for Black Label Society is a September tour of Australia and New Zealand; details are available at the band's website.
The upcoming roadwork supports Black Label Society's forthcoming seventh album, "Shot to Hell," which is due out Sept. 19 on Roadrunner Records. Two cuts from the disc--"Concrete Jungle" and "Black Mass Reverends"--are streaming at the label's website.
In 1987, a 19-year-old Wylde was thrust into the spotlight when Osbourne selected him to play lead guitar in Osbourne's band. Wylde co-wrote material on multi-platinum Osbourne releases such as "No Rest for the Wicked," "No More Tears" and "Ozzmosis."
Wylde formed Black Label Society in 1998, and serves as the group's sole songwriter, vocalist and lead guitarist.
