Andrea Bocelli to bring 'Amore' to the States
Italian pop/opera singer Andrea Bocelli will launch a short North American tour this winter, backing his most recent studio release, February's "Amore."
The prolific, Tuscany-born singer, blind since the age of 12 following a soccer injury, will play seven shows in North America during late November and early December, beginning with a Nov. 25 appearance at the David Foster & Friends charity concert in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Multiple Grammy-winning producer/composer Foster's organization benefits families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants. More information can be found on the organization's website.
After a Nov. 30 show in New York, Bocelli will stick to the western part of the continent for the remainder of his schedule, which includes a Dec. 6 appearance in Monterrey, Mexico. Pre-sale tickets for the shows will be sold Sept. 12-17 via AOL's CityGuide, as well as through the performer's own site.
"Amore," produced by Foster along with Humberto Gatica, features Bocelli's interpretations of classic standards, including "Autumn Leaves" and "It's Impossible." The album was recently certified platinum in the US by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying more than a million copies shipped..
