Briefly: Billy Joel, Beyonce, Audioslave, Paul Westerberg
Billy Joel is set to perform a Dec. 16 concert at Honolulu's Blaisdell Arena, marking his first performance in Hawaii in nearly 20 years.
Tickets go on sale Saturday (9/16), according to local news reports.
Joel, who is currently touring overseas, is in the midst of his first major concert trek since the late '90s.
With about 541,000 copies sold during its first week in stores, Beyonce 's "B'Day" tops the new Billboard 200 album chart.
Coming in at a distant No. 2 in its debut week is Audioslave 's "Revelations," which moved about 142,000 copies, Billboard reports.
Bob Dylan's "Modern Times" falls from No. 1 to No. 3, while Danity Kane's self-titled debut slips two notches to No. 4. Rounding out the Top 5 is "The Cheetah Girls 2" soundtrack.
Paul Westerberg penned 10 of the 12 songs that appear an the upcoming "Open Season" soundtrack--performing on the vast majority himself--and his former Replacements bandmate Tommy Stinson plays bass on two of the tracks.
Sacramento, CA-based alt-rockers Deathray and singer/songwriter Pete Yorn also perform songs by Westerberg.
"Open Season: Featuring the Songs of Paul Westerberg" hits stores Sept. 26; the animated film, which features the voices of Ashton Kutcher, Martin Lawrence, Debra Messing and Gary Sinise, opens nationally Sept. 29.
