Buckcherry, Crossfade team for fall tour

Riding high on the success of their first full-length album in five years, "15," Buckcherry will take another swing through the US this fall during a headlining club and theater tour that will also feature Crossfade .

The two groups launch the joint outing Oct. 10 in Las Vegas, and are scheduled to make stops in a dozen cities before the end of that month. The itinerary is included below.

Also shown below are details for a handful of September performances that Buckcherry will tackle before hitting the road with Crossfade.

Released in April, "15" is Buckcherry's first full-length release since 2001's "Time Bomb." The group went on an indefinite hiatus after issuing that disc due to the temporary departure of lead singer and founding member Josh Todd. He and guitarist Keith Nelson eventually reunited at a benefit for late drummer Randy Castillo, and were then recruited by ex-Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum to play in what eventually evolved into Velvet Revolver. The two continued to work together after Slash and company moved on without them.

"It made us realize how fun it was to be in a band again," Todd said in a press release. "We focused on what mattered, the music."

Nelson produced "15," which features the debut of three new Buckcherry members: guitarist Steve D.; drummer Xavier Muriel; and bassist Jimmy Ashhurst. The album spawned the hit single "Crazy Bitch" and follow-up cut "Next 2 You," the music video for which is streaming at Buckcherry's MySpace page.

Buckcherry recently came under fire when a lawyer representing an unidentified minor filed a lawsuit against the band and its labels, Warner Music Group and Atlantic Records. The suit reportedly alleges that the plaintiff, identified only as "Jane Doe," showed up to an open call for Buckcherry's "Crazy Bitch" video shoot at West Hollywood, CA's Key Club last October and, while there, was served alcohol and filmed "exposing her breasts, kissing another female and writhing against a pole" while the group performed, according to the Los Angeles Times. The plaintiff reportedly was 16 at the time of the incident.

The footage appeared in the "Crazy Bitch" video, as well as in a behind-the-scenes documentary about the filming of the clip, both of which have since been yanked from the Buckcherry's's website.

"The claims in this case are entirely unfounded and without merit," Skip Miller, Buckcherry's attorney, said in a statement. "Strict precautions were taken to ensure that only those over the age of 18 would gain access to the music video shoot. The casting ad called for over-18 talent only, signs were posted to that effect at the venue, and IDs were checked at the door. This woman not only used a phony ID to gain access, but filled out and signed a talent release form with what we now know to be false birth date information to match her phony ID. She was later seen boasting into the camera about her exploits in the video.

Miller went on to say that the lawsuit was filed "almost a year after the video was shot, only after the financial success of the band. We are going to defend this action vigorously and let the evidence speak for itself."

According to information posted at the group's site, Buckcherry will perform live on the Oct. 2 edition of the nationally syndicated radio program "Rockline."

South Carolina-based trio Crossfade offered up its latest disc, "Falling Away," in late August.
