Dashboard Confessional fills up on more tour dates

Dashboard Confessional has unveiled a slew of new shows for its upcoming fall tour, which will also feature punk/pop quartet Brand New.

New to the groups' schedule are about a dozen October shows, as well as a handful of November and December dates, including stops in the Phoenix area, Las Vegas, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Omaha, Chicago, Atlanta, New York City and the Boston area. Details are included below.

Led by group founder Christopher Carraba, Dashboard Confessional is backing its June release, "Dusk and Summer." The set sold about 134,000 copies during its first week in stores, which was enough to earn it a No. 2 debut on The Billboard 200 chart. Helping to spur sales is the single, "Don't Wait," which is streaming at Dashboard Confessional's MySpace page.

Dashboard Confessional wrote and recorded "Dusk and Summer" over a two-year period, with producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Linkin Park) at the helm. Carraba also enlisted famed U2 collaborator Daniel Lanois to help with production.

Carrabba, who got his start fronting rock bands Further Seems Forever and Vacant Andies, originally launched Dashboard Confessional as a solo act, but has since expanded the project to include a full band.

Brand New is gearing up for the Nov. 21 release of its follow-up to 2003's "Deja Entendu." The new, as-yet-untitled disc is the group's first for Interscope Records, which is also home to Dashboard Confessional.
