The Hush Sound sets up headlining tour
Chicago indie-rockers The Hush Sound will launch a major headlining tour in November, backing their latest album, "Like Vines," which hit stores in June.
The band, which recently completed back-to-back nationwide tours supporting Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco, will begin its headlining stint Nov. 1 in Minneapolis. The 39-city outing will circle through the West and East coasts before returning home to the band's Midwest roots in mid-December.
Tickets for all shows--with the exception of two sold-out dates, Nov. 18 in Tempe, AZ and Nov. 30 in Baltimore--are on sale now.
Fellow indie act Murder By Death, whose third album, "In Bocca Al Lupo," hit stores in May, will accompany The Hush Sound as opening support on all of the tour's dates. This Providence and This Is Me Smiling will add additional support at selected stops along the way.
"Like Vines," the follow-up to The Hush Sound's 2005 self-released debut, "So Sudden," was produced by Sean O'Keefe (Less Than Jake, Fall Out Boy) and Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump, after that band's bassist, Pete Wentz, discovered the Chicagoans and signed them to his imprint label on Fueled By Ramen, Decaydence Records.
The band will involve fans in a special contest during their upcoming outing. Fans can create video slideshows for two songs on "Like Vines," with the winning videos being projected on stage throughout the tour. More details can be found at the contest's website.
