Kenny Loggins sets up holiday tour
Singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins will follow a round of fall tour dates with a holiday outing dubbed the "Celebrate Me Home for Christmas Tour."
The run kicks off shortly after Thanksgiving and is currently scheduled to touch down in a dozen cities before Christmas. Details are included below.
Also shown below are Loggins' fall tour plans, which include a three-night stand in Las Vegas this coming weekend, as well as a handful of October concerts in the West.
Fans can expect to hear Loggins roll out a mix of "fan-favorite hits" alongside classic seasonal songs, according to his website, which also notes that, in addition to his backing band, Loggins will be joined by a local choir on stage in each city.
Loggins is best known for his bevy of '80s-era soundtrack hits, including "I'm Alright," from 1980's "Caddyshack"; "Footloose" from the 1984 movie of the same name; and "Danger Zone" from 1986's "Top Gun." His most recent collection of all-new material is 2003's "It's About Time." Among the guests who appear on the album are Michael McDonald, Richard Marx, Clint Black and Toad the Wet Sprocket frontman Glen Phillips.
Last year, Loggins re-teamed with former partner Jim Messina for the duo's first tour together in almost 30 years. The pair, billed as Loggins & Messina, recorded a series of successful albums in the '70s, but split before the end of that decade.
In conjunction with the Loggins & Messina reunion tour, Columbia/Legacy released the compilation disc "The Best: Loggins & Messina Sittin' in Again," which features hits such as "Your Mama Don't Dance," "Danny's Song" and "Angry Eyes."
Loggins reportedly is working on a new album.
