Jim Brickman makes his 'Escape' with massive road trip
Pianist Jim Brickman will launch his forthcoming studio set, "Escape," with a series of in-store performances, and will follow that with a lengthy theater tour.
Brickman's lengthy journey begins with an Oct. 2 show at the Cleveland House of Blues that is billed as a release party for "Escape," which lands in stores the next day. He'll then spend the remainder of October hitting Borders bookstores throughout the US for the aforementioned in-store appearances, which are free and do not require a ticket, according to Brickman's website. A one-off Arizona concert is also tucked into the plans, as is a pair of early November performances.
A late-fall/early winter tour follows, and is set to launch in mid-November, with stops planned in about 30 cities. A New Year's Eve show in Rochester, NY, caps the outing. Details are included below.
Brickman also has some 2007 engagements lined up, beginning with a late-January/early February stint aboard an at-sea excursion billed as the Valentine Cruise 2007; details are available at the cruise's website. A handful of February, March and April shows are also on the books.
The itinerary for all of Brickman's upcoming appearances as of press time is shown below.
"Escape," Brickman's first collection of original solo music in three years, features guest appearances from singers Gerald Levert, Sara Evans and Geoff Byrd, as well as jazz guitarist Marc Antoine, 2006 Star Search winner Jake Simpson, and violinist David Klinkenberg.
Fans can also look forward to another upcoming Brickman disc, "Christmas Romance." The collection, which comprises holiday standards and the Brickman original "Snowflake," will be available exclusively via Target stores and Brickman's website. A specific release date hasn't been announced.
