Kasabian's 'Empire' still growing
British rockers Kasabian , who are currently in the midst of a run on the US theater circuit, have added a new batch of shows to their schedule.
The group's itinerary, which previously was slated to wrap up in mid-October, now includes a number of November engagements. Details are included below.
Kasabian kicked off its current roadtrip earlier this month, in conjunction with the Sept. 19 release of its sophomore album, "Empire." The group recorded the new set with producer Jim Abiss (Arctic Monkeys, Placebo), and finished the bulk of the disc during a five-week period, according to a press release.
The first single from "Empire" is the album's title track, the music video for which is streaming at Kasabian's MySpace page. Band frontman Tom Meighan describes the cut as "Marc Bolan smoking crack with Dr Who," according to a press release.
This week, Kasabian posed for a photo shoot with noted photographer Mick Rock. The pictures were taken for use in an upcoming Playboy magazine rock-'n'-roll/fashion spread, which will run in the March 2007 issue, according to the band's website.
"We're reliably informed that Playboy is a much more respectable gentlemen's publication than you might think," the group wrote in a message posted at the site. "Certainly we've always read it for the golf and motoring articles."
