Guns N' Roses fire off tour details

Guns N' Roses , who've been releasing fall and winter tour dates in dribs and drabs during recent weeks, have rolled out a full itinerary for the run's first leg.

More than a dozen new November and December shows in the US and Canada have filled the gaps in the band's calendar, which runs from late October through mid-December. A handful of previously announced January dates are also in place. Details are included below.

Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach , a longtime friend of Guns N' Roses principal Axl Rose, will play an opening set on all dates; Bach has also been joining GN'R on stage at recent shows to sing the tune "My Michelle," a cut from GN'R's 1987 major-label debut, "Appetite for Destruction."

In addition to Bach, the tour will feature a rotating roster of support acts. So far, Papa Roach is confirmed to appear on the bill from the tour's Oct. 20 launch in Jacksonville, FL, through a Nov. 3 stop in Huntington, WV. Additional acts have not yet been announced.

Bach will hit the stage each night at 8 p.m., followed by the second support act at 9 p.m., and GN'R will take over "shortly after 10 p.m.," according to a press release.

Guns N' Roses spent the summer touring Europe, where they played to 700,000-plus concertgoers over 32 shows in 18 countries, according to the group's management.

"We had an amazing tour in Europe this summer and last week's shows here in the US were great," Rose said in a statement. "It's been a long time getting here but we look forward to coming to your town and having a lot of fun."

Rose is the only remaining original member of GN'R. The group is currently rounded out by keyboardist Dizzy Reed, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardist Chris Pitman, drummer Brian "Brain" Mantia, and guitarists Robin Finck, Richard Fortus and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.

GN'R has been working the road this year in advance of its supposedly soon-to-be-released album, "Chinese Democracy." The disc, which has been in the pipeline for about a decade, and the release of which has been delayed repeatedly over the years, will be the group's first collection of original material since the early '90s. No specific release date has been announced, but Rose has said that it will be issued this year.

In a press release issued Friday (9/29), GN'R's management said that "the only comment [about 'Chinese Democracy'] at this time is that there are 13 Tuesdays left between now and the end of the year." Tuesday is the day on which new albums hit US shelves each week.
The band launched a new website earlier today.
