Ray LaMontagne tours 'Till the Sun Turns Black'
Singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne, who spent much of the summer on a co-headlining run with Guster, goes it alone during a fall headlining trek that supports his recently released album, "Till the Sun Turns Black."
The run kicks off Nov. 9 in Los Angeles and works its way east, wrapping up Dec. 18 in Boston. Stops are planned in about 20 cities; details are included below.
In addition to his upcoming tour, LaMontagne's plans also include an appearance this Thursday (9/5) at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA. That performance is part of the 2nd Annual Lounge for Life Benefit Concert, proceeds from which will benefit the City of Hope for breast cancer research, according to LaMontagne's MySpace page. Other acts scheduled to appear include Train, Jewel and Teddy Geiger. Additional info is posted at show-sponsor Star 98.7's website.
"Till the Sun Turns Black" is the follow-up to LaMontagne's 2004 debut, "Trouble." The latter album earned the singer an Album of the Year award at last year's Boston Music Awards, and the title track took Song of the Year, while LaMontagne himself was crowned Male Singer/Songwriter of the Year.
Following his US tour, LaMontagne will cross the pond for a European outing. Details about that run are posted at his official website.
