Kenny Rogers maps holiday tour, issues new DVD

Kenny Rogers has laid out plans for his annual holiday tour, which will follow the light-country icon's in-progress fall roadtrip behind his latest album, "Water & Bridges."

Rogers wraps up his latest stretch of shows next week on the West Coast, then heads across the pond for a round of European shows. A handful of mid-November dates in the South follow before he embarks on a holiday outing that launches Nov. 24 in South Bend, IN, and runs until a Dec. 20 finale in Westbury, NY. In addition, Rogers has started rolling out 2007 tour dates.

Details about the US shows are included below, and the European tour itinerary is available at Rogers' website.

Dubbed "Christmas & Hits," Rogers' holiday production will, as its name indicates, feature the crooner serving up Christmas-time standards alongside some of his numerous hit singles, which include "She Believes In Me," "Lady," "Lucille" and "The Gambler."

Released in March, "Water & Bridges" debuted at No. 14 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and No. 5 on Billboard's Country Albums chart, making it Rogers' highest-charting set in more than 23 years, according to his website. Helping spur sales is "I Can't Unlove You," which is streaming at the site.

Last month, Rogers released "The Journey," a DVD that houses new concert footage and a career-spanning video biography about the singer. The film features Rogers performing 23 tracks, including four from "Water & Bridges," as well as duets with Willie Nelson, Kim Carnes and Dolly Parton.

Those who haven't seen Rogers in a while might not immediately recognize the 67-year-old singer, who earlier this year underwent a plastic-surgery procedure that dramatically altered his appearance.

"Last year I had so many lines coming in at the side of my eyes up here," Rogers told People magazine in April. "So I went in and got my eyes done, and I'm not happy about it. [The surgeon] is going to go in and fix that for me. They're too tight around the eyelids for me. It drives me crazy. I wake up in the morning, and [my wife] says, 'You look great.' But I know what I want to look like. If we can fix that, then I'll be glad I did it. If we can't fix it, I'll regret it or get used to it."
