Aimee Mann sets inaugural holiday tour
Singer/songwriter Aimee Mann , who's announced an Oct. 31 release date for her inaugural holiday album, "One More Drifter in the Snow," will back the set with a short round of Christmas shows.
The outing, dubbed "The First Annual Aimee Mann Christmas Show," launches Dec. 4 in San Francisco, and stops are planned in a total of seven cities. According to the tour announcement, Mann plans to play holiday classics at the shows, and she'll also be joined by special guests, who will be revealed on Mann's official website.
"One More Drifter in the Snow" features Mann's takes on holiday classics including "I'll Be Home for Christmas," "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" (featuring narration by Grant-Lee Phillips), "Winter Wonderland" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
Additional tracks include the original "Calling on Mary" (penned by Mann and producer Paul Bryan) and "Christmastime," which was written by Mann's husband, Michael Penn.
Mann's most recent studio release is 2005's "The Forgotten Arm," which she recorded with producer/singer/songwriter Joe Henry.
