Briefly: Wilco, John Fogerty, Whitney Houston, George Benson/Al Jarreau

Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, while the band was playing a solo show Monday night (10/16) at the Shrine Mosque in Springfield, MO, punched a man who jumped on stage, according to various online accounts.

Tweedy and the band addressed the incident in a post on Wilco's website, which claimed that there were security lapses throughout the night, and that the man Tweedy hit was the second stage-crasher of the night.

"I really regret what happened last night," Tweedy said. "I wish it had gone another way ... and I suspect had I felt safer on that stage, had security been doing a better job all night long, well things would have gone differently. He approached me from behind ... and I reacted in defense to get him away. I didn't know what his intentions were ... and I had to get him off of me. I'm sad that it happened at all."

A Halloween release date has been set for John Fogerty 's "The Long Road Home - In Concert," the audio companion to the concert DVD released earlier this year.

The two-CD set contains all 26 songs from Fogerty's September 2005 performance at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, which included selections from throughout his Creedence Clearwater Revival and solo careers.

Vocalist Whitney Houston has filed for divorce from R&B singer Bobby Brown, Houston's publicist told the Associated Press. The couple has been married for 14 years.

Jazz icons George Benson and Al Jarreau have joined forces for an album titled "Givin it Up," which is due in stores Oct. 24.

Special guests who appear on the set include Paul McCartney, Jill Scott, Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller and Chris Botti.
