Sean Lennon maps club tour to back 'Fire'
Sean Lennon will launch a tour of nightclubs and small theaters in late October to back the release of his second full-length solo album, "Friendly Fire."
Lennon, the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, kicks off the outing Oct. 29 in New York, and the 14-city trek will run almost up against Christmas, with tour stops spread fairly evenly across the continent.
"Friendly Fire," which hit stores Oct. 3, is Lennon's second full-length release, following his 1998 debut, "Into the Sun." An EP, "Half Horse, Half Musician," also appeared in 1999.
Lennon enlisted the help of director Michele Civetta for his new set, creating short films to go with each of the album's tracks. Lennon has been screening the videos in big-screen format in selected cities recently. His website has more information on future film screenings.
VH1.com is currently streaming selections from "Friendly Fire" on Lennon's artist page.
Lennon has taken a quixotic path in following his father's footsteps, choosing mostly to stay behind the scenes and work with acts like Cibo Matto rather than produce his own material.
