E Street Band Drummer Max Weinberg To Chat About Tour, TV Commitments

Max Weinberg will take part in a Thursday (2/11) chat on Launch.com to discuss his own experience in preparing for this summer's tour with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and his plans to return to NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien television show, where he heads the house band.

The chat, scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. EST, is one of several speaking opportunities that Weinberg has been involved with recently, including recent interviews with the Washington Times and WMMR, a Philadelphia rock station.

In the Times story, Weinberg said that the reunion tour will be a one-time-only event and that he remains eager to return to his daily job with O'Brien. Weinberg also noted that he's in the process of learning a significant amount of material for rehearsals that are scheduled to begin in early March.

''We have never played a lot of the songs that people will be hearing. We've recorded them, but not played them live. I think the Tracks box-set is a good indication of a lot of the things I'm working on now to learn for the tour,'' Weinberg told the Times.

Fellow E Street member Steve Van Zandt also has a television job to protect, having recently debuted an acting career as mob member Silvio Dante in HBO's new series The Sopranos.

The Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band reunion tour is expected to be one of the most coveted tickets of the summer concert season. The tour is generally expected to begin in Europe and launch a US run in the early summer.

Springsteen will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist on March 15th in New York.
