Gwen Stefani's 'Sweet Escape' set for December

Gwen Stefani 's second solo album, "The Sweet Escape," will hit stores on Dec. 5, and she'll take to the road next year to support the set.

The new album's first single is "Wind It Up," produced by The Neptunes. Others who contributed to the release included Akon, Tony Kanal, Nellee Hooper, Sean Garrett, Swizz Beatz, Dave Stewart and Keane's Tim Rice-Oxley.

Stefani's first solo album, 2004's "Love. Angel. Music. Baby," is certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. She first gained fame fronting the Southern California ska-pop act No Doubt.

Stefani and her husband, musician Gavin Rossdale, welcomed their first child, Kingston James McGregor Rossdale, in May.

"This album is surprisingly different than the last one," Stefani said in a press statement. "I started recording it last year before Kingston was born and it's definitely evolved over the last year. The dance sound is very 'now.' It's modern ... not so retro."

Also on Dec. 5, Stefani will issue the new concert DVD "Harajuku Lovers Live," which was filmed during shows in Stefani's hometown of Anaheim, CA.

According to a press release, Stefani will embark on a US tour behind the new album in April. The itinerary hasn't been announced.
