The Fray pulls it together for more touring
Pop-rock outfit The Fray , which recently launched a run on the club and theater circuit, plans to stay busy in early 2007 with a tour of college campuses.
The group touches down tonight in Orlando, FL, for a Halloween concert, and canvasses the West through most of November. Appearances at a pair of December radio-station festivals follow before a holiday break, and the early '07 outing, which is primarily routed along the college circuit, launches Jan. 10. So far, stops are planned in 18 cities by early February.
Details for all of the upcoming shows are included below.
The Fray continues to back its platinum-certified debut album, "How to Save a Life," which surfaced last September. Last month, the group offered up a revamped version of the set that includes the original album bundled with a bonus DVD featuring 45 minutes of video footage, including a tour documentary, the video for the "How to Save a Life" cut "Over My Head (Cable Car)" and a making-of the "Over My Head" video special.
Additional video footage of the group is available at the band's recently created off-shoot website, howtosavealife.com. The site includes a streaming version of the video for the "How to Save a Life" title track, a song that was inspired by singer/pianist Isaac Slade's experience as a mentor to a crack-addicted teen, according to the band's bio.
"I was a sheltered suburban kid when I met this guy," Slade said in a press release. "He was a recovering addict, coming out of a really tough teenage life. Thankfully, he was on his way out of that life, so he was able to really look back with some objectivity. The song is more of a memoir about his slow-motion descent and all the relationships he lost along the way.
"It is the easiest one for me to sing every night," he continued. "I constantly get emails from people who relate to it."
