TLC, Mary J. Blige Lead The Field At The Soul Train Awards
TLC and Mary J. Blige led the field in the annual Soul Train Music Awards, each picking up wins in two categories. Whitney Houston and the artist formerly known as Prince took Artist of the Decade honors.
Feisty trio TLC took awards in the Best R&B/Soul Single by a Group, Band or Duo category for the hit "No Scrubs," and the band's multi-platinum "Fanmail" album won in the best R&B/Soul Album by a Group, Band or Duo category.
Mary J. Blige took the Soul Train Award for best R&B/Soul Album, Female for "Mary," and was also tapped as Female Entertainer of the Year. Rapper DMX got the nod as Male Entertainer of the Year.
The awards were presented on Saturday (3/4) during a ceremony co-hosted by Eric Benet, TLC's Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and Tamia, as well as Soul Train host Shemar Moore.
