Briefly: Marianne Faithfull, The Jammys, Backstreet Boys, Rilo Kiley
Marianne Faithfull 's spokesperson told the BBC that the 59-year-old singer has recovered from breast cancer, and will begin touring again next year.
"It has been an extraordinary experience and, in many ways, extremely positive," Faithfull said in a statement. "I didn't realize how many true friends I had."
Faithfull postponed a planned world tour in September after she was diagnosed with what was described by her spokesperson as a very early stage of breast cancer.
"Best of The Jammys," a 100-minute DVD compiling some notable performances from the six-year-old awards ceremony focused on the grassroots jam-band scene, is due in stores Nov. 14.

(Peter Frampton and Guster); and "Wharf Rat" (Phil Lesh and Ryan Adams & the Cardinals).
The Backstreet Boys ' A.J. McLean told MTV News that the group--which is carrying on minus Kevin Richardson--is about "three-quarters of the way through" recording a new album.
Rilo Kiley is currently in a Los Angeles studio, working with producer Jason Ladel (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mars Volta) on the group's follow-up to 2004's "More Adventurous." The as-yet-untitled album is tentatively slated to hit stores in April or May, according to Warner Bros.
