Widespread Panic, Trey Anastasio to highlight Langerado fest
Organizers of Florida's Langerado Music Festival have revealed an initial lineup for the fifth annual incarnation of the event that includes Widespread Panic , former Phish frontman Trey Anastasio , O.A.R. , Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks and many others.
The March 9-11 festival will expand from two days to three, and return to Markham Park in Sunrise, FL, for the third straight year. The park is located at the eastern edge of the Everglades Conservation Area.
Tickets for the event, which go on sale Dec. 1, will be limited to 15,000. Other acts currently signed on include Los Lobos, moe., Blackalicious, Medeski Martin & Wood, Matisyahu, Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Taj Mahal, Toots and The Maytals, Explosions in the Sky, North Mississippi Allstars, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Disco Biscuits, Band of Horses, The Mutaytor, New Orleans Social Club and Kid Beyond.
Acts will be spread across multiple stages at the festival site. A limited number of camping sites will be available for event attendees, and the grounds will also feature food and crafts vendors, art installations and a children's play area.
Organizers expect to make additional lineup announcements before the Dec. 1 on-sale date. More information about the event can be found at the festival's official website.
Previous incarnations of the festival, which began in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, in 2003, have featured The Black Crowes, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Wilco, The Flaming Lips, The String Cheese Incident, Cake, Cracker and G. Love & Special Sauce.
