Country legend George Jones [ tickets ], fresh off a year that included a new all-star tribute album and a health scare that knocked the singer down, but not out, has unleashed a full schedule of dates for the first half of 2007.

The country music Hall of Famer, now fully recovered from the bout with pneumonia that caused him to cancel several shows earlier this year, recently finished up a November run of dates and will next tackle a Dec. 1 appearance in Vinton, LA.

Jones' 2007 schedule kicks off Feb. 2 in Tunica, MS, and includes several Nashville appearances, among them a back-to-back April 21-22 stand at the Little Nashville Opry. The performer has also worked several Pennsylvania and Texas stops into his itinerary.

Jones is currently backing "God's Country," a tribute album of sorts. The disc, which shipped in October, features an all-star lineup performing many of Jones' classic numbers, and also features the singer himself appearing on two songs: the album's title track, which is an original Jones composition, and a duet with Garth Brooks.

"Nobody in the world sings like him. Nobody in the world can sing like him," Vince Gill, who also appears on the album, said in a press release. "It's like trying to cover The Beatles."

Other performers on the set include Sammy Kershaw, Pam Tillis and Tanya Tucker.
