British piano-rock trio Keane [ tickets ] will be back in North America early next year following the cancellation of a US/Canadian tour that was scheduled to run from September to December.

So far, Keane has dates booked in Los Angeles; San Francisco; Portland, OR; Seattle; and Vancouver, British Columbia. More are expected to be announced soon, according to the band's website. Confirmed shows are listed below.

Keane initially postponed, and then canceled, its planned fall tour of North American so that frontman Tom Chaplin could undergo treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. The band members said in a statement that they felt it was important to not pressure Chaplin to rush his treatment.

"It'll be great to get back out to America and Canada," Chaplin said in a press release. "We were all really disappointed to miss out on the big tour in September, so it's genuinely exciting to be going out again. It's long overdue and we're really looking forward to it."

The Brit Award-winners have also announced a UK arena tour in February and March, details of which are available at the band's website. Their Feb. 28 gig at Wembley Arena sold out the first day tickets went on-sale, so a second show was added.

Keane's sophomore album, "Under the Iron Sea," was released in June and entered The Billboard 200 chart at No. 4. The fourth single from the record, "A Bad Dream," will be released Jan. 22. A live version of the track is streaming at the band's MySpace page.

Keane has become known as "the band with no guitars" because of its piano-based instrumentation. In recording "Under the Iron Sea," the members said they created a unique sound by putting an old electric piano and various analogue synths through many combinations of vintage guitar-effects pedals.
