Vicki Sue Robinson, "Turn The Beat Around" Singer, Dead At 46

Disco queen Vicki Sue Robinson , best known for the 1976 hit, "Turn the Beat Around," died Thursday (4/27) after a battle with cancer. She was 46.

Robinson received a Grammy nomination for Best Female Vocalist of 1976 for the single ''Turn the Beat Around.'' That same year, she also won Billboard magazine's award for No. 1 Pop Album of the Year. Her voice could also be heard on jingles for such brands as Maybelline, Downey and CoverGirl.

A greatest-hits album is due this summer on BMG/RCA.
