Pepper feeling 'No Shame' on the road
Fresh off the Jagermeister Music Tour, reggae/ska/dub/punk band Pepper has announced it will headline a North American outing starting with two nights at the House of Blues in San Diego Feb. 14-15.
The tour, which includes special guest the Mad Caddies, will make a round trip from the West Coast to the East Coast and back, stopping for a couple Canadian dates along the way. Details are included below.
Before hitting the road, Pepper will headline the second annual Float the Boat Music Fest aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, Jan. 13.
Pepper is supporting its latest album, "No Shame," released in October. The record, the band's fourth, is its major label debut on Atlantic. A diverse lineup of producers worked on the 18 tracks, including 311's Nick Hexum, No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal and former Butthole Surfer Paul Leary.
The album's lead single, "No Control," is streaming at the band's website, as is the video. A few more songs from the record are streaming at Pepper's MySpace page.
Last year, the group released "Pepper Live," a DVD filmed over two sold-out nights at West Hollywood, CA's Troubadour in September 2004. The 80-minute video features 18 songs from the band's first three albums.
Pepper members Bret Bollinger, Kaleo Wassman and Yesod Williams formed the band in Kailua, Kona, HI, and relocated to Southern California in 1999, thanks to a promotional deal with surf/skate/snow lifestyle company Volcom Entertainment.
Their involvement with Volcom led to a spot on the 2001 Warped Tour, according to Pepper's website. The group has since toured with artists including 311, Snoop Dogg and the Kottonmouth Kings, and has sold out shows in cities all over the US.
The bandmates also have a label of their own, LAW Records, to promote their music and new bands. Orlando, FL-based rock group Supervillains is their latest signing.
