Stone Sour to lead new edition of Jager tour
Alternative metal act Stone Sour heads up the list of performers for the Jagermeister Music Tour , which kicks off its latest installment in March.
Tour organizers have also tapped Lacuna Coil and Shadows Fall as special guests for the outing, which kicks off March 23 in St. Paul, MN, and will hit more than 30 clubs and small theaters through May, with each show's lineup rounded out by a local band affiliated with the Jagermeister Music program.
"We as a company have a lot of respect for hard rock and metal music and also a lot of respect for Stone Sour and what they have accomplished," Rick Zeiler, Director of Marketing and Brand Development for Jagermeister, said in a press release. "We have worked with both Lacuna Coil and Shadows Fall for many years through our band sponsorship program, and both of these bands know how to represent Jagermeister."
At press time, promoters had only nailed down a confirmed date for the tour-opening Minnesota show. Individual dates for other stops on the outing are expected to follow soon. More information will be posted at the event's website. Confirmed cities and venues are listed below.
"This has been something we have been looking forward to for a very long time," Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor said in a press release. "Having done this tour before, I can honestly say it's like nothing I've ever experienced. It's our time, and we're coming for you."
Formed in the late '90s by Taylor and guitarist Jim Root, both of whom went on to become part of Slipknot, Stone Sour released its self-titled debut album in 2002. The group's most recent studio effort is last year's "Come What(ever) May."
Past editions of the tour have featured Disturbed, Slayer, Slipknot, Staind and Hatebreed, among other acts.
