Tenacious D plots West Coast 'Destiny' in February
Comic-rock duo Tenacious D --consisting of Jack Black and Kyle Gass--will head out on a short West Coast jaunt in February after finishing up a tour of Australia and New Zealand.
The duo will kick off their brief outing Feb. 13 in Santa Barbara, CA, followed by three shows in the Pacific Northwest as they continue to back "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny," the soundtrack album companion to the pair's movie debut from last November.
The group's full itinerary Down Under can be found at the official Tenacious D website.
Produced by the Dust Brothers and mixed by Ken Andrews (A Perfect Circle), the album features a guest appearance from longtime Tenacious D cohort and drummer Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), as well as bassist John Spiker and guitarist John Konesky.
"The Pick of Destiny" soundtrack follows Tenacious D's 2001 self-titled debut, which the Dust Brothers also helmed, and on which Grohl also appeared.
Tenacious D was introduced to a national audience via its late '90s appearances on HBO. Black has since starred or co-starred in a number of feature films, including "High Fidelity," "Shallow Hal," "Orange County" and "School of Rock." More recently, Black hosted the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards; Gass also appeared at the ceremony.
