Kenny Chesney signs big names for stadium gigs
On the heels of Kenny Chesney 's announcement that he'll participate in Wisconsin's Country Thunder festival and Southern California's new Stagecoach fest, the "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem" singer has lined up six daylong summertime NFL stadium shows.
The Flip Flop Summer 2007 Tour--which will also feature Brooks & Dunn , Sugarland , Sara Evans and Pat Green --kicks off June 9 at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field, home of the Steelers, and continues with performances at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field, Seattle's Qwest Field, Cleveland's Browns Stadium, Foxboro, MA's Gillette Stadium and Detroit's Ford Field. Details are listed in the itinerary below.
"There is a whole other kind of energy, other kind of dynamic," the reigning Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year said of the upcoming trek via his website."We're talking the firepower of one of country music's most hardcore, hard-rocking duos. All the acts really ... it's a pretty intense line-up, in what we've found to be a very exciting place to do concerts."
Tickets go on sale Feb. 10 for all shows except Philadelphia (which will hit the market March 3) and Seattle (March 10).
"You know, getting all those people together for a little party ... they start tail-gating, cooking out early, and then we rock straight through the night," added Chesney, who won the People's Choice Award for best male singer earlier this week. "Anyone who's ever been knows it's a helluva good time.
"We've got a few surprises, some new tricks, a few different songs--and we're gonna be making it the summer of our lives. Hopefully, the fans'll be out there raising Hell and having a good time with us ... because we believe, and we always have, the more the merrier with shows like this."
